6th day on the job

if i had a 27 2x4 piece of wood the width would be 54in and the length would be 108in. the biggest challenge we had faced today was having to sand over our corn hole boards and having to think about a new design that we were going to put on the corn hole boards. what we had to do to get rid of the problem was make sure we new the write colors we were going to use and make sure that we went slacking off. our plan for tomorrow is to get done with our painting and have our henge's put on. hopefully if we get done early we could go and help out with the gaga pit.

4th day on the job

A challenge that i faced was that i had a nail that was put in the wrong place and that took up a lot of time, and also the nail had chipped our wood. but how i over came that was Mr.clay was the there to help us, so then he got the nail out.
what I'm proud of is actually building something that will last for a while. also I'm proud that i can now use a hand saw, a drill and a miter saw. the reason why I'm proud of them is because i never thought that i would be experiencing something so cool. what i wont to do next to complete this project is finish our design and our swing out board that holds the corn hole together.

5th day on the job

some major problem that we had today was painting because it was so hot outside to were the paint was just drying so fast to were we Had to make sure there were no clumps and make sure our brush stokes were great. how we over came that was painting one way and not making clumps every were to were it wouldn't look good.
my favorite part of the day would probably be when i actually got to help out with the gaga pit.

third day on the job

For these last three days everything was going accordingly. after what i had experienced today, i felt like i could build anything. i was a little nervous about using the miter saw today because i had never had tool so powerful in my hand before. but after i had cut a couple times cutting became a piece of cake. Monday was a day were Larry Rosenstock came in and taught us a couple thing about the tool we were going to be using. this is a great experience and i hope i could keep this hard work of carpentry going.

second day on the job

today when we were measureing out lumber for the bean bag sacks ect. i seem like every time we had measured some of the lumber it would some times not be the right measurement for what we needed. so what we did was kept meauring and finally we got to equal all the lumber the same. something that could go wrong while cutting could be that maybe some one who was measuring there lumber tryed to compare there measurements with someone else and if they went with there measurements there actual cutting procces could go wrong. if i had to teach some one about useing a hand saw i would first explain the danger that could happen if you fool aroud. then i would explain how you should hold the saw and make sure that you are whereing gogoles at all times. and for the last tip is ,when you cut make sure you're lined up directly straight with the saw. well the majic number that is important to know is 67.5 because first it tells you the degrees of an angle and plus 67.5 is half of 135. that's why it's so important to know.

junior carpenters first day

The difference between a section view and a plan view is that the section view is from the side and kind of like a 3D look to it if you want it to. Camron, sam, and i were talking about how safty really matters and how important it is to have. our skit was about measure twice and cut once. what that means is you should have the perfect measurement after you measure about two too three times. the difference between an amercian saw and a japanise saw is the amercan saw has its own way, when you move forward it cut but when you oull back it doesnt cut, but for an saw from japan its the other way around
